Overview
Resume Tailor (formerly Resume-JD Matcher) helps job seekers optimize their resumes using AI. This policy describes exactly what we collect and why.
TL;DR: Your resume and Anthropic API key stay on your device and go directly to Anthropic - we never see them. Signing in with Google is required to use the extension, so we do store your email, a unique account ID, and basic usage analytics.
What We Collect
- Account info: When you sign in with Google, we receive and store your email address and a unique account ID, via Supabase, our authentication and database provider.
- Usage analytics: We track product usage - for example, when a job description is analyzed, when a tailored resume or cover letter PDF is generated, or when extracting a job description from a page fails - tied to your account, via PostHog. This helps us understand how the product is used and fix problems. We do not track the content of your resume, job descriptions, or anything you type.
- Feedback or uninstall responses: If you submit feedback or an uninstall reason through our forms, we store what you submit (and your email, if you choose to provide one for feedback).
What We Don't Collect
We do not see or store your resume content, the job descriptions you analyze, your Anthropic API key, or any AI-generated output (bullets, summaries, cover letters). All of that stays local to your browser and is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API using your own key.
Data Storage
- Resume file and Anthropic API key: local browser storage only - never uploaded to our servers, ever.
- Account info (email, account ID) and usage analytics: stored with our service providers, Supabase and PostHog respectively.
Third-Party Services
- Anthropic: When you run an analysis, your resume and the job description text go directly from your browser to Anthropic's API using your own API key. We never see this data.
- Google: Used solely to sign you in. We receive your email and basic profile info - we do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, or other Google data.
- Supabase: Stores your account (email + account ID).
- PostHog: Stores usage analytics as described above.
Your Choices
Signing in is required to use the extension. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email us and we'll process the request.
